Following an extensive survey among the Spinal Cord Injured (SCI) community, Deaf Blind Association and calling on people with lived in experience within the neurodiverse spectrum – plus my own lived in experience of living with a SCI for 39 years, I made every effort to include adaptations and aids to suit families who like to travel with their disabled children, husbands, wives, elderly parents or friends.
The level entrance leads into a bright airy hall suitable for storing equipment not in use all the time.
The lounge has all plug sockets and light switches at wheelchair height with coloured dots for the visually impaired.

The French decor teams beautifully with the contemporary sofa bed which sleeps one person comfortably, or two at a squeeze.
Large wall mounted TV for family viewing with a selection of books and games for you to enjoy.
Manual reclining armchair and high fibre broadband, so you can log into your Netflix or preferred mode of TV viewing.
The bedroom has a double profile bed with ceiling track hoist, clothes rail at wheelchair height and a TV for DVDs.
The ensuite wetroom has a sink at wheelchair height with room beneath, walk-in shower and WC with handrails on both sides. Further adaptations include a raised toilet seat, commode chair and perching stool for the shower, just ask what your preference is and it will be ready and waiting for you.

The well equipped kitchen has a fitted oven at wheelchair height, coffee machine, air fryer, washing machine, dishwasher and a refrigerator with a small freezer compartment.
The sink and hob are wheelchair accessible – with easy to control knobs on the hob for visually impaired.
The kitchen table has four free standing chairs and a long wooden bench seat, comfortably seating six people.
The decked courtyard garden has chairs and tables, plus a gravel area for guide and assistance dogs, perfect for sunny evening alfresco dining.
In the basement you'll find a large master bedroom with double bed, tea/coffee making facilities and a refrigerator.
The bathroom is well equipped with a bath, WC and wash hand basin.
The single bedroom has been designed with ambulant neurodiverse in mind – painted in soft grey muted tones with minimal furniture, a TV connected to games console and noise cancelling headphones.

Additionally, I have equipped the house with a wakey shakey alarm, weighted blanket, slide board, slide sheet, helping hand, Repose overlay pressure relieving mattress, adapted cutlery & sippy cup, food blender, communication cards and touch sensitive bedside lamps. Also included are a few three pin adapters in case you bring your own devices from home and a selection of chargers and a power pack.
Please note: hoisting is only available over the bed. The wetroom does not have sufficient space for safe mobile hoist use. Please bring your own sling for the hoist.
“You shouldn’t have to travel with a van full of kit. We’ve got most things here, ready to use.”
